Hartmut Ringel was born in West Germany. As an apprentice in a joiner’s workshop, he learned the fine handling of wood and furniture-building. With a degree in fine cabinet making, he traveled as a journeyman and worked in many shops all over Europe. After studying art & design from 1998 to 2002 at the art college Angewandte Kunst Schneeberg in Saxony, he came with his wife and son to Wisconsin in 2004. Hartmut is collecting eggshells for a new installation at the vacant Harrisburg Church, poetically playing with ideas of emptiness and fullness. Learn more about Hartmut Ringel.
