Singer/Songwriter/Keyboardist Shawndell Marks first learned how to sing in the 80s in the backseat of her mom's blue ford escort station wagon, singing along to The Carpenters, Carole King, and Patsy Cline. Winner of several Madison Area Music Awards, including Female Vocalist of the Year in 2017, Marks has released five albums, her latest entitled Punk Ballads, favorite punk songs from the 70s and 80s reinterpreted as piano ballads. She is currently a regular member of three musical acts: Gin, Chocolate & Bottle Rockets with rockstar pals Jen Farley & Beth Kille, Gold Dust Women, an all female Fleetwood Mac cover band, and she also fronts her own original band. The pandemic has offered an opportunity to fulfill a longtime dream: going back to college to pursue a degree in music therapy. She currently lives in Baraboo with her daughter and sometimes in the hills of Roxbury with her partner.
