Charlie Brouwer lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Floyd County, Virginia. His education includes: BA, English, Grand Valley State University, MA, Painting and MFA, Sculpture, Western Michigan University.
He taught art from 1974 to 2008 – 2 years H.S. in Australia, 11 years H.S. in Michigan, and he was a professor of art at Radford University for 21 years. Since 1975, his work has been shown in over 300 exhibitions throughout the United States, and in Australia, Hungary, Poland and South Korea. He now works full time creating indoor and outdoor sculptures, installations, and community based public art projects.
