For those looking for a workout in addition to a cultural experience, there is no better way to enjoy the sights, sounds, and aromas of the Farm/Art DTour than on a bicycle. The driftless, hilly terrain is not for beginners, but experienced riders will enjoy this way of traveling the route.

We encourage all riders to start at one of two Fermentation Fest Trailheads—either in Sauk City in close proximity to the Great Sauk State Trail, or in the town of Plain. Here you can pick up a DTour Map and cycling cue sheet and note the locations of stops, restaurants, and taverns along the way.

Cyclists with Sentinels by Madeline Straka, 2018 DTour

Riders will have the option of biking the entire DTour or just part of it. Cyclists are encouraged to get an early start (no later than 10 a.m.) to take full advantage of the activities each day. Please be cautious when riding, as bikes will share the road with cars, trucks, motorcyclists, tractors, and buggies. Cyclists should be prepared to announce their presence when approaching horses, since they are easily startled.
